At Lighthouse Literacy Academy we are dedicated to providing our students with both learning and teaching methods that are not only researched based and scientifically proven, but also child approved. Our goal for each student is that they achieve success through our positive and nurturing methods. That  learning is never a negative, but instead fun filled and meaningful. At Lighthouse Literacy Academy we believe that all children can succeed at becoming strong, independent and confident readers, in-turn  becoming confident academic achievers in all areas of education.

Our focus on a strong foundation in literacy will develop  successful students, not only at the primary grades, but into upper elementary, middle school, high school and beyond. At Lighthouse Literacy Academy Christ at the center of all we do. We start each day with a bible story, and each Friday with chapel. We care about the hearts of our students, always pointing them to Jesus. It is our desire that families  join us in continued prayer for all Lighthouse Literacy Academy students, their families as well as the Lighthouse Literacy Academy staff.

We use the Abeka Curriculum for all areas of academics. With our literacy curriculum we do not use Abeka alone, instead using as a support to our own literacy program. The Abeka program has been serving private Christian schools since the 1970’s, with prestigious and well known private schools choosing Abeka solely for their students. Each student receives an entire years worth of curriculum in each subject. At the end of the school year all work goes home for children and parents to admire.

About ABEKA CURRICULUM from their website:

"Our philosophy doesn’t come from what sounds good or from what other people are doing right now. Instead, our teacher-led, character-building philosophy comes from a biblical foundation—Proverbs 22:6a, “Train up a child in the way he should go.”

There’s structure and organization because that helps students know what to expect—and what’s expected of them—but also because 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

In history, you see God’s hand. In science, you see His design. In grammar, you see His order.

Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and you’ll find Scripture and biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrate concepts.

We don’t use any method or materials that haven’t been proven over time—and with children of all different learning abilities.

Your students and teachers won’t be guinea pigs for new educational fads.

Do we test new textbooks and lesson plans before we print them for you? ABSOLUTELY.

We start with proven teaching methods and a biblical philosophy when we develop content. Every time, we go through an extensive research and development process before we consider material good enough for you and your school.
